3 Consecutive General Assembly held for the Scale up Barangays in Mt. Province

oncerned project stakeholders convened for the third general assembly for the Scale up Barangays of the DA-CHARM2 Project cum Free Prior Informed Consent (FPIC) validation that was conducted in Dacudac, Tadian, Balugan, Sagada, and Bangnen Oriente, Bauko of Mt. Province on August 2-4, 2017, respectively.

The said activity was the third orientation held in the barangays to validate sub-projects and for the community to confirm and adopt the Participatory Project Investment Planning (PPIP) for their respective barangays for CY 2017-2021.

The PPIP of the barangays contains the community’s development vision, mission, goals, objectives, and strategies for its implementation with the technical and financial support from DA-CHARM2 Project (Scale Up).

The PPIP is the result of the series of barangay general assemblies, focus group discussions (FGDs) and workshops conducted by the Project staff and MLGU staff in the barangay. The active participation of the community was solicited throughout the planning, identification, and finalization of the plans to make sure that everybody is involved had fully participated and understood the different processes for the implementation of their sub-projects.

After going through the contents of the PPIP, the community confirmed that all the subprojects identified are their priority needs. Residents together with their Barangay Officials signed the adoption of PPIP.

Present during the orientations were the Barangay residents headed by their Barangay Captains and members of the peoples' organizations (POs) and livelihood interest groups (LIGs), MLGU and PLGU staff, staff from NCIP and ENRO. Present also were staff from the Project Support Office headed by Project Manager Dr. Cameron Odsey and staff from the Provincial Coordinating Office (PCO) headed by Engr. Beverly Pekas.//mjmaguide
