CHARMP2 turns over FMR in Kapangan

apangan, Benguet- A 3.8 million farm-to-market road project was turned over to the beneficiaries at Barangay Beleng-belis here during its inauguration, turn-over and acceptance ceremony on February 13.

The project is the rehabilitation of Mangga-Obellan-Catampan FMR Phase II that will benefit two barangays namely Brgy.  Beleng-belis and Brgy. Balakbak. The project will benefit an estimated 90 households.

The 1.2-km project was completed last December 16, 2014 after its start in September 2014. First phase of the FMR was completed on July 2013.

Benguet Governor Nestor B. Fongwan reminded the beneficiaries to take full responsibility in the maintenance of the road project as signified in a ceremony for the acceptance and maintenance of the project by the beneficiaries here.

Residents in the area were grateful for the project saying they no longer have to worry about transporting their products such as sweet potato and other root crops, sweet peas, beans, cucumber and fruits and they can now buy their own vehicles with convenience.

The project cost is shared by the CHARM2 Project (70%), the Department of Agriculture (20%), and Municipal Local Government Unit (10%).//Crislyn F. Balangen
